Amit + Soms + Rey - Family Stroll in Lakeview
When I planned this fall session with Amit, Soms, and Rey, we hoped and expected to do pictures in the park with changing leaves in the background. Instead, we woke up to a 35-degree day with snow and ice still on the ground from the day before. Winter came early, and we needed a Plan B allowing for us to take shelter inside!
Instead of an afternoon at the park, we decided to do an afternoon stroll through their Lakeview neighborhood along the Southport Corridor. We met at a local bookstore, shopped a little, and then took the long walk home stopping to snap pictures along the way. If you ask me, this Plan B worked out so well! Rey loved the bookstore! There were so many things for him to look at and touch. He was the star of the show. Everyone who walked by had to stop and smile at his big eyes and beautiful head of hair. His joy is seriously contagious!
Prior to meeting with Amit and Soms, I asked them some questions about their little family. Here’s what they had to say:
Tell me about yourselves, where you’re from, and how you met.
Amit and I are both from India (different regions: Amit - Kolhapur and me - Kolkata). We both came to the U.S. for our post-graduation. We actually met through an online dating site (crazy huh?!) and got married in 2015.
Tell me about Rey! What are his favorite things in life right now?
Rey (short for Reyansh) is usually a very happy baby, loves to smile and giggles a lot - especially when anyone sneezes. However, recently he is not a big fan of the camera*. I think we take too many pictures. He loves his school (he goes to daycare full-time five days) and all the activities they do there, especially painting! He loves music since he was a tiny newborn, now he starts dancing whenever there is some music!
*Note: Based on the photos below, he doesn't realize my camera is actually a camera hehe.
What has been the best part about life together as a family of three?
Life recently has gotten very busy. Rey keeps us on our toes, literally! When the weather was a little better, we would go out for walks during weekends. Recently it has mostly been cozying up at home and playing endless peek-a-boo with him - that's the best part of our family of three :)
