"Pick Me Up" Smoothie

IMG_0148 Temperatures reached the mid-50's yesterday in Chicago, which felt like heaven considering it snowed, again, a few days ago. The sun was out and the pups wanted to play, so I decided to make myself an afternoon "pick me up" smoothie to drink outside.

It's been a while since I've made this smoothie. I forget that I tend to have all of the ingredient at home already, making it that much easier to whip together!

Smoothie Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1-cup of milk
  • 2-shots of espresso
  • 2-3 tbsp of peanut butter
  • 1-tbsp of flaxseed
  • 1-2 frozen bananas

Directions:

Blend it all together and enjoy!

Note:

You could substitute the espresso for strong coffee. Also, if you don't have frozen bananas, you could use thawed ones and just add ice. I find that everyone likes their smoothies different, some thick and some thin. Play with the proportions until it's just right!
