London Part II
At the end of October Shay & I went to Berlin & Paris. We were home in Chicago for approximately 3 weeks, and then we flew to London for Thanksgiving! It’s abnormal for us do that much traveling in such a short period of time, but we just can’t say no when these opportunities come up! For the London Part I post & the Guide Map, click here. On our third day in London we went to Notting Hill, and shopped around at the Portabello Road Market. We bought a few Christmas gifts while walking the streets. From there, we took the tube over to the South Bank and rode the London Eye at sunset, which was breathtaking! When we left the London Eye it was dinner time, so we ventured out on our own little pub crawl - hitting up 5 pubs total (all listed on our map). When we were planning our trip I thought about signing us up for a group pub crawl, but then I remembered that Shay and I are pretty good at organizing our own (plus, it's free when you DIY).
On our last day in London we went on a little bit of a marathon. We started off with brunch outside at Gail's Kitchen. Yes, I said outside... in November... on a 50-degree morning. Apparently it's totally normal to eat and drink outside all year long in London (thank goodness we were seated near a heat lamp!). After breakfast we went to the Sherlock Holmes Museum at 221B Baker Street, which was super nerdy, but really interesting! After that we went to Abbey Road and walked the infamous crosswalk. It was a bit chaotic, but I got a good shot of Shay! From there, we went to Shoreditch, strolled down Brick Lane, checked out some street art, and then went to the BrewDog tap house. We of course filled a growler at the bar to drink in our hotel room while we packed our bags and said goodbye.
Phew! Did you catch all of that? Our trip was a whirlwind, but we had an amazing time. I absolutely loved London and would go back in a heartbeat. Below are pictures from the 2nd half of our trip. If you have any questions about what we did, feel free to ask!
