Coffee (V60) & Coffee Cake
It's a rainy day here in Chicago, and I can't think of a better way to spend the afternoon than drinking a hot cup of coffee with some homemade coffee cake (recipe here). Shay bought me a Hario V60 Ceramic Drip Cone for Christmas, and I've been dying to test it out. After reading a few different sets of instructions, I finally realized that a video is the best way to learn a new brewing method.
This video is short 'n sweet (and it has a catchy tune - which keeps it interesting).
I've found that when I learn something new, it's best to write down my discoveries (which is where this blog comes in). It's also helpful to keep a journal in the kitchen for a quick reference (no internet access necessary). I just started using this Coffee Journal by Moleskine, which allows me to keep track of coffee tastings, recipes (both food and drink related), shops, and brands. I'm in love with it!
Well, I'm off to cozy up with my mug and a warm blanket.
