Wine Down: California Reds
I should start off by stating that I am not a wine expert. I trust what my taste buds tell me, and what my friends and family recommend. Within the last 6 months I've discovered that some of my favorite wines are red, and almost all of them are from California. Below is a list of the wines that continue to take up space on my beverage cart.
Hey Mambo Sultry Red Blend of Syrah, Zinfandel, Barbera, Petite Sirah, and Alicante Bouchet Grapes
Gnarley Head Zinfandel
Mark West Pinot Noir
Clayhouse Wines Adobe Red Blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Verdot
Seven Daughters Rich Red Blend of Syrah, Merlot, Grenache, Zinfandel, Cabernet Franc, Alicante Bouschet, Cabernet Sauvignon
I tend to believe "you get what you pay for" when it comes to wine, which is why I typically stay in the $8-$15 range when I'm shopping. All of the wines listed above fall in that category.
Have any wine recommendations? I'm always interested in trying something new.
