December 26th

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas! Shay and I were lucky enough to spend a few days before Christmas with his family who came in from Ohio. We spent the last couple of days on the south side of Chicago with my family. As always, we had a great time! A lot of good company, delicious food, and lots of laughs. As adults, it seems that Christmas comes so quickly, and then it's over. The decorations come down as fast as they went up. Some people think I'm crazy, because I put my decorations up Thanksgiving weekend and then I usually leave them up well into the New Year. I just love this time of year so much that I tend to stretch it out as long as I can.

You know how there are some people who give themselves an entire birthday month? Well, it's really the same thing... plus a few extra weeks (all for that 8-pound, 6-ounce, newborn baby Jesus).

Below are some of my Christmas decorations that I just can't bare to take down yet! The stockings are new this year from West Elm. I also got some ornaments yesterday as gifts (one of them is an owl... making that 7 total owls on our tree!).
