My Funny Valentine

Shay & I usually don't get too excited about Valentine's Day - it's a miracle if we even get each other cards (although I'm kicking myself for not purchasing the one shown above!). In the last few years we've treated February 14th like any other day, and instead we would go out for a spontaneous romantic date either before or after the holiday to avoid the crowds.

Two weeks ago, Shay took me to Girl and the Goat for dinner... at 8:00 PM... on a Tuesday! (For those of you that aren't familiar with this restaurant - it's very hard to get reservations.) We already "celebrated" the usual way, so tonight the plan is to have a casual evening out with some friends.

For the last 7 years I've had the same Valentine. This year, I have two: Shay & Gatsby. In all seriousness, I cannot explain what those boys mean to me. I think Frank Sinatra says it best:
