Megan + Tony + Seb - Mother's Day Session

I meet up with Megan, Tony, and Sebastian at a park near their home on Mother’s Day for a little photoshoot. This was my third time snapping photos of this sweet family (previous sessions here and here).

Every time I see this trio, I’m reminded of why I do what I do. Taking photos of people can be incredibly personal. I love that each session builds off of the last one, and each time we meet is an opportunity to learn more about them and share their story.

Check out our Q&A below, and scroll a little further to see the photos from our time together!

Eight months have passed since I last saw you all! What have you learned about Sebastian from then to now? In what ways is he like his dad and in what ways is he like his mom?

He is determined, has endless energy, and so much happiness in him! He’s such a good kid.

He is definitely careful, like his mom. He’s not quite walking yet and every practice step is taken with care. At the same time, he’s daring like his dad when it comes to climbing. He has mastered mounting and dismounting all of our furniture, and is a whiz on the stairs.

The happiness is contagious in this house and we spend a lot of our time laughing with each other.

Happy Mother's Day! Motherhood can mean so many different things to different people. What does motherhood mean to you?

Motherhood has been the best time of my life. Waking up to Seb every day puts a smile on my face and being in real estate (with a flexible schedule), I get to spend most days by his side. Tony and I get to see pieces of ourselves in Sebastian and it’s been a blast getting to know who he is.

Now that the weather is finally warming up, what are you looking forward to doing this summer in Chicago?

We are so lucky to be in Lincoln Park! We have the parks, zoo, farmer’s markets, Cubs games, and Lake Michigan just steps away. The activities and options are endless! The next goal is to get Seb a seat for my bike so we can ride around the city together. I can’t wait to see the wind whipping through his curly locks and his toothy grin as he enjoys the ride.
