Patricia + Joe
Patricia and Joe got married on July 1st, 2016 at the Cook County Courthouse in Downtown Chicago. The ceremony was simple and intimate, with just a handful of loved ones surrounding them as they committed their lives to one another.
Patricia and Joe were so kind in agreeing to answer a few questions about their wedding for my blog. Here's what they had to say:
How would you describe the vibe of your wedding in one sentence?
We surrounded ourselves with only immediate family, and subsequently created an atmosphere of genuine love, without pretensions, expectations of grandeur or the stressful pressures found in many large, fast-paced weddings.
What made you choose to have a small wedding?
We’ve both been married before, with 100 and 250 guest weddings, respectively. Having a small wedding was a dream come true, allowing us to focus on the most important people in our lives: our parents, brothers, sisters, niece, nephews and most importantly, our 15 month old son.
What was your favorite part about the wedding?
Hands down, the photos. Even with only 17 guests (including 5 kids), I can’t remember everything that happened, and having professional photos is something we will cherish forever. You think you will remember everything, because it is such a wonderful day, but having a third eye to capture the unexpected is priceless. For us, one of these moments was running across a New Orleans-style street band after the ceremony, and having our first dance amongst a crowd of cheering onlookers.
If you had to summarize your wedding in five words, what would they be?
We wouldn’t change a thing.
