Let There Be Light

I remember shortly after closing on our condo, Shay and I were standing outside admiring our little 3-flat when we noticed something strange... a window, that appeared to belong to our unit. We did a double-take, and then went inside to find the mysterious window. It turns out, the previous owner dry-walled over it, but it was still visible from the outside.

It took us a couple of years to settle on the idea of exposing the window. What if something was wrong with it? What if there was a really good reason for covering it up? A few months ago, we decided to risk it, and voilà! Sure, it's a little off-center, and a little odd, but I love it! The new window adds even more light to our already bright living/dining/kitchen area.

I also love the redecorated wall in this space. I resurrected some old wedding photos and added some new artwork that I feel jives with our taste. Some may think that the Lord's Prayer doesn't belong next to a Mark Twain quote about whiskey, but I'd have to disagree. I'm also obsessed with the portrait of Gatsby in a red T-shirt hand drawn by an old friend.

This summer Shay & I will be celebrating 3 years in our home, and each year that goes by we get more and more rooted in this cozy space of ours.
